Tony Fagerdahl – Physical Performance Coach / Acupuncturist

Tony Fagerdahl is a Personal Trainer, Physical Performance Coach, and Acupuncturist with more than 25 years of experience working with both elite athletes and individuals seeking to optimise their health and physical function. He is also one of the co-owners of Triay Medical Centre and plays an integral role in the clinic’s multidisciplinary and integrative approach to care.

Throughout his career, Tony has worked with high-level athletes, supporting performance through structured training, nutrition, and recovery strategies. In addition to elite sports, he has helped a wide range of clients improve strength, mobility, body composition, and overall wellbeing by integrating exercise science with clinical insight.

Work life

A central component of his work is acupuncture. Tony is trained in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) at the Neijing Academy, the oldest school of Classical Chinese Medicine in Europe. His training provides him with a comprehensive and systemic understanding of acupuncture, allowing him to address both musculoskeletal conditions and broader functional imbalances.

He has achieved particularly strong clinical results in the treatment of pain syndromes, including neck and back pain, headaches, sports injuries, and chronic musculoskeletal dysfunction. In addition, he works with stress-related conditions, sleep disturbances, fatigue, and recovery optimisation. By combining acupuncture with neuromuscular activation and corrective exercise, he focuses on identifying and addressing the underlying causes of dysfunction rather than only relieving symptoms. His approach aims to restore muscular balance, improve movement quality, regulate the nervous system, and support overall physiological resilience.

Tony provides acupuncture treatments, personal training sessions, body composition screening, nutrition coaching, movement analysis, and neuromuscular activation programmes. He performs detailed body composition assessments and designs individualised nutrition plans tailored to each person’s physiology, activity level, preferences, and goals.

In addition to his clinical work at Triay Medical Centre, Tony is actively involved in the development of the OptiLife Studio, where he conducts advanced longevity and performance assessments. These include lactate threshold testing to determine personalised heart rate training zones, comprehensive body composition analysis, and functional movement evaluations aimed at optimising long-term health and performance.

Fluent in Swedish and English, Tony works with an international client base, combining structure, motivation, and an integrative therapeutic approach to help individuals achieve sustainable balance and long-term wellbeing.
