Nonetheless we take pride in offering an extremely broad spectrum of tests, as giving professional advice on the scientific evidence base for less common investigations.
We aim to achieve a rapid turnaround time for test results without compromising on accuracy and quality of the test. The majority of our standard blood test results will be available within 24 hours or sooner if urgent.
Our laboratory specialist has directed laboratories in large public healthcare hospital for many years. All results that are significantly outside a normal range prompt a coordinated response with an instant phone call between the laboratory specialist and the relevant doctor.
The testing methods for the different conditions are constantly being updated to the latest evidence based methods. Some examples include the progression from blood antibody testing for Helicobacter Pylori infections, to breath testing and now standard stool antigen detection to confirm the diagnosis. Routine annual stool tests for microscopic blood to screen for colon cancer have become a three day test. This significantly increases the sensitivity when compared to standard single day tests.
We offer rapid results for sexually transmitted disease testing. A Chlamydia PCR test result can be expected within 12 to 24 hours. Within our practice we offer validated results within 10 minutes for, cholesterols, triglycerides, HbA1C (diabetic check) and INR for anticoagulant control.
Other investigations offered are blood tests for chronic heart failure or deep vein thrombosis. Genetic testing for Coeliac Disease or Haemochromatosis and stool testing for pancreatic insufficiency or bowel inflammatory markers. We also perform breath testing for lactose intolerance or Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO).
Our laboratory specialist has obtained a postgraduate degree in microbiology. His experience and knowledge allow us to obtain extremely accurate bacterial identification in our cultures with directed antibiotic sensitivities to each type of bacterial growth. We routinely perform MRSA screening and testing for pre-hospital admissions.
