This type of facility is equipped to carry out certain types of invasive procedures that do not need hospital installations and can therefore be performed as an outpatient.
Gastroscopy & Colonoscopy – These are well known and common investigations that may need to be performed as diagnostic procedures or simply for preventative purposes. Within our medical centre these are performed with intravenous sedation, which is administered by a consultant anaesthetist.
Cystoscopy – A number of urinary tract symptoms may need a direct view of the bladder to diagnose a problem, take a biopsy or simply to exclude serious conditions. In a similar manner, the patient can sedated if required.
Minor Skin Operations – Some larger skin lesions may need to be excised under local anaesthetic but the procedure may need more sophisticated equipment for a safe and successful outcome.
Other Procedures – These include intrauterine examinations such as a hysteroscopy performed by a consultant gynaecologist or lumbar spine facet joint injections by accredited pain specialists.
