Dr José Antonio Cara del Rosal is a highly respected Specialist in Orthopedic Surgery and Traumatology with an extensive and distinguished career spanning more than three decades. He is known for his clinical precision, academic excellence, and calm, reassuring manner with patients.
He graduated in Medicine from the University of Granada and completed his specialist training in Orthopedic Surgery and Traumatology at the Clínica Universidad de Navarra. His training was further enriched through international placements in Louvain, London, and Boston, broadening his surgical perspective and exposure to advanced techniques.
Work life
Dr Cara obtained a Doctorate in Medicine from the University of Navarra, awarded Apto Cum Laude and the Extraordinary Doctorate Prize in recognition of the quality of his research. He also holds a European Diploma in Hand Surgery from Vienna and a Master’s degree in Medical and Clinical Management from the Instituto Carlos III (UNED), in addition to qualification as a University Expert in Forensic Sciences.
Throughout his career, he has combined clinical leadership with academic involvement. He previously served as Assistant Professor of Orthopedic Surgery and Traumatology at the University of Navarra and worked as a Specialist Physician at Hospital Costa del Sol in Marbella for over a decade. He later became Medical Director of Marbella High Care Clinic and Head of the Orthopedic Surgery and Traumatology Service. He also holds a permanent specialist position at Hospital de La Línea de la Concepción.
Dr Cara has authored more than 50 books and book chapters and over 70 scientific articles in national and international journals. He has delivered numerous lectures and led multiple specialist courses, reflecting his continued commitment to advancing orthopedic knowledge and surgical standards. His work has been recognised with several awards within the field.
