Monica Vallejo – Physiotherapist
Monica Vallejo is a highly experienced physiotherapist with over 28 years of clinical practice. Her long-standing career reflects both technical expertise and a strong commitment to continuous professional development.
She originally qualified in Physiotherapy at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid in 1994 and further broadened her clinical perspective during a training placement at Queen Margaret College in Edinburgh. In 2023, she completed an updated degree in Physiotherapy at the University of Cádiz, reinforcing her dedication to maintaining contemporary academic standards and evidence-based practice.
Work life
Throughout her career, Monica has undertaken extensive postgraduate training across a wide range of specialised areas, including neuropathy assessment and treatment, cervical-related headaches and dizziness, spinal and joint dysfunction (including temporomandibular joint disorders), respiratory conditions, muscular injuries, and post-surgical rehabilitation. She is trained in advanced techniques such as dry needling, craniosacral therapy, myofascial therapy, and therapeutic taping.
Monica remains actively engaged in professional development through regular participation in conferences and involvement in research initiatives. She is currently undertaking doctoral (PhD) studies, further strengthening her academic engagement and commitment to advancing knowledge within the field of physiotherapy. Her clinical work is strongly informed by evidence-based practice and ongoing research.
Exercise prescription forms an integral part of her therapeutic approach. She carefully designs individualised rehabilitation programmes and provides detailed guidance, including instructional videos when appropriate, to support patient understanding, safety, and long-term recovery.
Working closely with physicians across multiple specialties as well as fitness professionals, Monica prioritises coordinated, multidisciplinary care to ensure optimal outcomes for her patients. Fluent in Spanish and English, she works comfortably with an international patient population, ensuring clear communication and continuity of care.
