Frida Fagerdahl – Medical Director

Dr Frida Fagerdahl is a Swedish-trained Family Doctor with over 16 years of clinical experience across Scandinavia and Spain. She combines broad medical expertise with a holistic and patient-centred approach, and is known for her calm presence, thorough assessments, and strong continuity of care.

She graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Copenhagen in 2008. Following her initial clinical work internationally, she completed the Swedish specialist training programme in Family and Community Medicine in Stockholm, becoming a certified specialist in 2019. The same year, she obtained additional qualification in Sports Medicine from the Karolinska Institute.

Her specialist training included extensive rotations in Primary Care and hospital-based disciplines such as Internal Medicine, Geriatrics, General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Accident & Emergency, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Psychiatry, Paediatrics, Dermatology, and ENT. This broad foundation has given her a comprehensive understanding of both acute and chronic conditions across all age groups.

Work life

Dr Fagerdahl has worked in Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Russia, and Spain in both public and private healthcare systems. Since 2012, she has also focused on lifestyle and sports medicine. She served as team doctor for a Swedish women’s top-league football team and co-founded and led a Sports Medicine and Lifestyle Centre in Sweden between 2019 and 2024 before relocating to Marbella.

Her clinical interests include preventive medicine, lifestyle optimisation, metabolic health, mental health, hormonal balance, sports medicine, and integrative primary care. She has further training in acupuncture, mindfulness-based approaches, meditation, and functional medicine, allowing her to integrate conventional and complementary methods where appropriate.

Dr Fagerdahl provides comprehensive primary care services including health check-ups, acute and chronic disease management, mental health support, sexual health consultations, paediatric assessments, vaccinations, minor surgical procedures, and coordinated referrals to trusted specialists when needed.

She takes time to understand the whole person — not only symptoms — and emphasises careful clinical reasoning. Investigations are selected thoughtfully: thorough enough to ensure important conditions are not missed, yet avoiding unnecessary testing. Her approach is structured, evidence-based, and individually tailored.

Fluent in Swedish and English, she also communicates confidently in Danish and effectively with Norwegian-speaking patients, making her particularly well-suited to the Scandinavian community on the Costa del Sol.
